Carmen Road School – Dodd’s Fund Project. Pioneers provided “Lady Bug Switch” and “Let’s Play Ball” game.
Mother Goose and Dictionary projects are ongoing.
The Long Island Bombers is a blind traveling softball team. We sponsored them to purchase their hats that were monogramed with our logo. They made it to the World Series this year, The didn’t win, but it was an exciting game.
Our clubs knitted and crocheted scarves in pink for the American Cancer society. The scarves were donated and we were told they would be given out in the survivors tent. Childrens scarves were made as well for the little ones.
This project gives a child that would not be able to have a birthday party due to family financial struggles, all it needs to host a party. It contains, Party plates, cups, table cloth, party hats, napkins, cake mix, cupcake liners and foil baking sheet, frosting, 10 juice boxes and a present for the child. Every school, and Outreach, Social Ministry loves getting our Birthday in a bag.

ason the Paumanok Chapter pioneers along with our employees from Garden City, Great River, Massapequa and the Centereach CMC, partnered with the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree project to purchase gifts for children.
In many instances these are the only gifts these children will receive. This year we were overwhelmed with the generosity of all those who participated.
The pioneer slogan is “Answering the Call of Those in Need”, and that we did, adopting 175 of the 2,500 children the Salvation Army committed to helping.
Thank you so much for enabling our “ Angels” to have a Wonderful Christmas Day. This project would not have been a success without your help and donations.

Nicole Lefferts a third grade teacher put in a request, approved by Principal Brenda Jackson, for 144 dictionaries to be used by four classes. Nesconset Club President Marion Manno and Pioneer Joan Lefferts, delivered the dictionaries to the Cordello Elementary School in Central Islip. The Principal, teachers and students were quite pleased with the dictionaries.
