The broad objectives of the study were to prepare and submit 17 reports on SDGs to JICA with each report containing 2 cases. The study identified existing scenario of SDGs business in Bangladesh. Description of technical specialization provided by the firm: 

  • Investigated on 34 SDG business companies of Bangladesh and focused on their business model, business performance, institutional profit, their approach towards SDGs including the goal(s) of SDG they were working with.
  • Prepared 17 reports on SDGs where each report contained details of 2 companies/cases which gave a transparent idea about the SDGs situation in Bangladesh. It also gave the idea of how the companies are contributing to the selected SDG.
  • Also provided necessary ICT support to JICA Bangladesh office for maintaining the Bangland website and converted the reports in the HTML format.

To provide JICA Bangladesh Office with the 8 reports out of SDGs 1 to 17 with case studies and to provide JICA Bangladesh Office necessary ICT support in order to maintain “Bangland” website. For Objective (1)

  1. All the work can be done either in English or in Japanese. To develop research plan on each SDG report (SDGs No. 3, 4,6,8,9,12,13,15 out of 17 SDGs) and obtain approval from JICA Bangladesh Office. Not limited but, at least each report should be taken the following points in to account.
  1. Each report should contain:
  1. Brief picture of each SDG with global perspective
  2. Current situation and challenges in relation it each SDG in Bangladesh
  3. Reporting of 1(One) good example as case studies of SDGs business, which address to each SDG in Bangladesh (Totally 8 examples of SDG No. 3, 4,6,8,9,12,13,15 out of 17 SDGs). Describe
  • What is their business model?
  • To which SDGs they approach
  • How they approach… etc. 
  1. Conclusion with key messages to viewers (Japanese Companies)
  2. The current SDG 1 report in the Bangland website can be regarded as a reference.

For Objective (2)

  1. To translate the draft contents prepared by JICA Bangladesh Office in to HTML style. The contents are basically written in Japanese, so it should be necessary to review the HTML page (how they look like in real web-page), then deliver to JICA Bangladesh office. The contents include 8 SDGs reports, which are finalized and described in Japanese by JICA Bangladesh Office based on the deliverable of the Objective (1).
  2.  The consultant is expected to convert the draft data into HTML, style and provide it to JICA Bangladesh Office, within 10 days. The order is expected to be made in bi-monthly basis. The volume of planned contents is approximately 50 pages of A4 size of word files per order.
  3. To provide necessary work for website management
  4. The consultant is expected to deal with some bugs or security issues based on the direction of JICA Bangladesh Office as necessary.

The BPO has plans to construct a modern technology-based mail processing center and introduce e-commerce based products and services by 2026. The Feasibility study will assess the business models of BPO branching into e-Commerce services, technical and financial aspects of generated ideas spawn out of Digital Service Design Lab (DSDL) and also the technical and economic feasibility of a possible Automated Mail Processing Centre (AMPC) for Bangladesh Post Office.

Followed by this, the core objectives of this project holds:

i. To provide a high-level enterprise architecture design and technical Feasibility on

Digitalization/Automation of BPO

ii. Develop a business model for implementing a business service where BPO will sell Agro-based products grown by marginal farmers directly to the end consumer.

iii. Originate a business model for BPO mail and parcel services. The business model will consider future trends, primarily focusing on the growing digital commerce market.

iv. Conduction of a feasibility study on Automation of Mail Processing Center (AMPC) Description of technical specialization provided by the firm:

  • Assess all the exixting services of BPO
  • Design indicator and criteria for identifying the quickwins
  • Prepare implementation roadmap plan
  • Prepare financial feasibility studies and analyze the report on proposed new service
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection and data analysis and subsequenty developing an e-commerce level agro-business model.
  • Arranging Validation workshop
  • Assess the existing mail and parcel delivery process, technology usuage both from the Govt. and Private end.
  • Review of existing rules/regulations of BPO and prepare further efficient suggestion for reformation
  • Develop business model and provide a validation workshop on the mail and parcel services
  • Perform a feasible study on the opportunity of MPC and determine the existing technology for MPC for both government and international aspect and provide respective report on the study.
